Gaist Crusher is an Action game developed by Treasure for the Nintendo 3DS. It was released exclusively in Japan on December 05, 2013. A sequel, entitled Gaist Crusher God, was announced and released on September 04, 2014, in Japan, featuring an extra new story, gameplay, enemies, and characters. In the year 2047, mankind discovered a rare metal ore called “Gaimetal“, filled with huge amounts of energy. Undermining for these strange metal ores began all over the world.
However, in 2075, humankind was been constantly attacked by Gaists, a race of metallic creatures whose bodies were encrusted with Gaimetal. Thus the forming of the GCG (also known as “Gaist Crusher Garrison”), an organization tasked with dealing against the Gaist monstrosities. Gaist Crusher will include both cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes. Toy-exclusive Gaimetals can also be placed upon the 3DS with a Gaist Phone-live cover attached to grant rare and exclusive Gaist Gears.
The gameplay plays fairly similar to Lord of Arcana, with most of its combat mechanics bears similar to God Eater, although it usually focuses on combos and techniques. Players must explore the mission map, battling Gaist along the way. At the end of the map, a larger Gaist will appear as the boss, which requires defeating it to complete a mission. Players can make use of various attacks, as well as using “Gaist Arts” and “Form Changes”.
When defeating the Gaist down, a special “Crash Chance” appears, in which the player must destroy Gaist’s core (which was surrounded by Gaimetal) within a given period of time, rewarding them with a new Gaist Gear once completed. The three things about this genre are to “equip, transform, and collect”. To customize the right character with the correct Gaist Gear from the defeated Gaist bosses, and collect them all.
