Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games – Virtual Card Album is a Miscellaneous Application game developed and published by Sega for the Nintendo 3DS and was released on July 05, 2012. The objective was to collect virtual cards within the application itself. Virtual cards could be collected by spending Play Coins, going to Nintendo Zone hotspots, by having StreetPass active on the Nintendo 3DS system, or by trading directly with other players via the infrared LED on the system. Some cards were given out at specific locations, with there being 73 cards to collect in total. Additionally, cards have a “Rarity” valued from 1 to 5 stars. It was possible to receive duplicates, thus, it was recommended to trade the duplicates with others.
