Noesis – Uso o Tsuita Kioku no Monogatari is a Visual Novel game developed and published by FuRyu for the Nintendo 3DS. It was released exclusively in Japan on November 30, 2016. The game is a remake of the original NOeSIS visual novel, which was first released for iOS in 2011. This 3DS version features enhanced graphics and additional content, providing an enriched experience for players familiar with the original. As a visual novel, the gameplay primarily involves reading through the story and making choices that influence the narrative’s direction.
The game delves into themes of memory, truth, and the supernatural, offering a suspenseful and immersive experience. A girl who can capture the memory of whoever she’s in front of by just looking into their eyes. A childhood friend who lives with two red-smeared eerie dolls, convinced they are her parents. A sickly little sister who manipulates people by just smiling. The protagonist meets these girls who lack something and gets involved in strange events. This slowly gnaws at his heart, like tracing with a fingertip the reminiscences of a distant day. A sad and somewhat nostalgic story about memories.
