Photos with Mario is a photography application that was developed by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS and was released on April 15, 2013. Use your Nintendo 3DS system to play and pose with Mario, Peach, or Goomba using special character cards and the Photos with Mario application, included at no additional cost with the Photos with Mario series of $10 Nintendo eShop Cards.
Players use the 3DS’s camera and augmented reality capabilities to make Mario characters appear on specially-themed cards, which can be photographed. The application also features the ability to drag the characters away from the cards and place them elsewhere for a photo. The player can also cause special effects to happen on-screen, such as blowing bubbles causing a shower of stars, and changing the scene’s lighting with the use of several buttons.
