Description

After over two years of development, it’s finally time to introduce Pokémon Fleur-de-Lys! But what is Pokémon Fleur-de-Lys? In essence, a difficulty hack of Pokémon X that proposes a new, different way to explore the Kalos region. Heavily inspired by some of my favourite games, like Pokemon Run & Bun and Pokemon Emerald Kaizo, it takes a similar approach, restricting the player’s options while trying to keep the “vanilla” feel by limiting the changes done to Pokémon stats and typing, and focusing on resource managament and trainer battles, with most of them being mandatory and showcasing a wide variety of sets that should make each one feel unique and interesting. 

And, for the first time ever in a Generation 6 game, Pokémon Fleur-de-Lys introduces changes to the battle engine, featuring edits to abilities, moves and items previously considered “hardcoded”. One of the most important ones being, of course, the return of permanent weather, but also including the rebalancing of some other battle mechanics. This beta release currently runs until Olympia, the seventh gym leader, so that’s a good chunk of the game for you to, hopefully, enjoy. You can grab the documentation here, join the server, and start playing. There are roles and other rewards awaiting for those that want to make it far!

Features

  • -Changes to the battle engine, featuring edits to abilities, moves and items previously considered “hardcoded”.
  • Custom AI
  • -Experience doesn’t really exist. You can buy candies for a small price at the very beginning on Aquacorde Town and on each Mart after that. The game is balanced around the player being at the cap at all times (minus intentional delays and underlevels for baiting, etc.)
  • -EV’s are removed. You could technically still use Super Training for now since I haven’t found a fix I’m satisfied with yet, but eh.
  • -Healing items can be freely used in battle. I’ve chosen not to remove that option for those who want to play casually or simply nuzlocke without Hardcore rules. The focus will of course be on Hardcore nuzlockes but I don’t want to alienate the rest of players.
  • -Hidden abilities are not accessible for the player. The only exception is the Sinnoh starters you get from Sycamore: they’ll always have their hidden ability.
  • -I’d recommend reading the Mechanic Changes doc first. This is the first Gen 6 game to feature changes to the Battle Engine so some things will work differently compared to vanilla.
  • -Hordes don’t exist, don’t even ask about them.
  • -This is a resource management oriented game, so every bit of resource is important. Those familiar with other games like Run&Bun will already know this but: berries are limited, most held items can only be obtained once and can be permanently lost if they get Knocked Off, there is only one copy of each Gem, and there are only 10 Heart Scales obtainable for remembering moves, so be careful when deleting moves.
