Seisou no Amazones

Seisou no Amazones is a RPG game developed and published by Arc System Works for the Nintendo 3DS. It was released exclusively in Japan on November 14, 2013. Seisou no Amazones offers a unique blend of dungeon-crawling RPG mechanics with distinctive character designs and gameplay features. Set in a futuristic world where men have long ceased to exist, the narrative follows the protagonist, Gantai (meaning “Eyepatch”), who is imprisoned on a massive space-bound facility known as the “Prison Planet.”

To escape, Gantai must navigate through treacherous dungeons, battling formidable foes and uncovering the secrets of an ancient civilization that may hold the key to her freedom. Players explore labyrinthine dungeons from a first-person perspective, encountering traps, puzzles, and enemies. While the dungeon design offers depth, some players have noted limitations, such as the inability to annotate maps and occasional bugs affecting 100% completion.

Combat operates on a turn-based system where each character utilizes Action Points to perform attacks or skills. Strategic management of AP is crucial, especially as party size increases. After certain battles, players enter a mini-game where Gantai uses her special eye to absorb enemy data. This involves interacting with character models using the stylus, a feature that has drawn comparisons to other titles with similar mechanics. The game features character designs by Miyama-Zero and boss designs by Kimura Jutaka, contributing to its distinctive aesthetic.
