High School DxD is a Visual Novel game developed and published by Kadokawa for the Nintendo 3DS. It was released exclusively in Japan on December 19, 2013. It is based on the events of the first season of the anime. Described as an “erotic battle adventure”, the game features a visual novel and turn-based battle system. The majority of the gameplay is simply the player choosing conversation choices.
However, at the end of each character is a “Dressbreak” boss battle with turn-based combat. The game is set at Kuoh Academy, a former all-girls school that is now co-ed. The school has a secret population of angels, fallen angels, and devils. The player takes on the role of Issei Hyodo, a human student who is reincarnated as a devil by Rias Gremory
