ROM Information

Unchained Blades EXXiV is a RPG game developed and published by FuRyu for the Nintendo 3DS. It was released exclusively in Japan on November 29, 2012. It serves as the sequel to Unchained Blades (known as UnchainBlades ReXX in Japan). Unchained Blades Exiv is a game that appeals to the senses while staying faithful to the genre of dungeon RPGs. Gamers become Ryuga, the last of the dragons from Uroboros. He travels into Titan, a massive labyrinth, in search of the goddess of heaven to extract a cursed obelisk.

On his way, he encounters the white priestess Sophia and Hilda, a black swordswoman. The player’s goal is to battle the monsters that come his or her way, and to find out the motives behind different members of the player’s team. Unchained Blades EXXiV builds upon the mechanics of its predecessor, offering refined systems and new content. Players can recruit a wider variety of monsters, enhancing party customization and strategic options.

The alchemy mechanics have been overhauled, allowing for earlier access to crafting and a broader range of items. The process of recruiting monsters has been streamlined, making it more accessible to players. Dungeons feature more intricate layouts, with complex paths and challenges that test players’ navigation and combat skills. The game introduces multiple protagonist routes, each offering unique storylines and perspectives.
