“But what if I want to choose a dialogue option?”

No worries, this mod stops at those choices. That way, you can still make your choices and also continue to skip through the dialogue.

“I want to shiny hunt the starters, how quick is this process on the hack?”

In base USUM, the starter cutscene takes up to 1 minute and 25 seconds; this mod cuts it down to around 45 seconds, a 47% cut in time.

“What about Shiny Poipole?”

Very much doable, and since you’re holding down the L or R button to fast-forward the dialogue, it’s easy to soft-reset if you get a normal Poipole.

“Does this work with the 3DS hardware?”

Haven’t tested the .cia file format, but I imagine it may be possible on real hardware with a little trial and error. But I didn’t test it there, so be cautious if you try that.

“Will you do this with the other 3DS Pokemon games?”

Probably not, since this was a lengthy process and I had to make a lot of changes to ensure it would still save and run the cutscenes. But given how a lot of this was done through binary/hex editing FieldRo.cro and code.bin, an equivalent is possible for base Sun and Moon, Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, and X/Y. It would take a while, though, since those have vastly different code and routing than Ultra Sun and Moon.
