ORAS Megas

• Returning from Ancestral X, Mega Pokemon available only in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire are available in Y Nouveau! Take your favorites into battle!
• Mega Rayquaza is available – Delta Stream, Primal Kyogre, and Primal Groudon are not.
• Unfortunately, Mega Camerupt, Mega Sableye, and Mega Steelix are disabled due to graphical restrictions yet to be overcome.

Level Caps

• Never before seen, Y Nouveau features built-in Level Caps!
• Choose your own difficulty, from Strict Caps to removing the Level Caps entirely! Just open up the Settings Menu to adjust the value to your liking!

Handcrafted Trainers

• Every Trainer has been constructed from the ground up, with difficult trainers utilizing items and synergistic abilities meant to test your mettle

Fully Custom AI

• Expanding on the Al developed in Ancestral X, Y Nouveau now offers a fully deterministic Al, for both Battle Al and Switch Al.

Pokemon Rebalancing

• Every single Pokemon has been individually evaluated, and have been entirely overhauled to ensure they are viable. Additionally, you’ll find that evolutions have been stretched out, giving you more time to interact with the rarely used middle stage Pokemon!
• Changes for each Pokemon include:
• Stats, Types, & Ability Changes
• Move List Changes
• Evolution Method Changes

New Abilities

• For the first time ever, Y Nouveau reworks base game Abilities, pulls Abilities from Gen 7+ into the game
• Introduces brand new Custom Abilities to Kalos!

New Moves

• Expanded from Ancestral X, all Moves have been evaluated and select ones have been buffed or nerfed.
• Additionally, a series of Moves from Gen 7+ have been introduced to the game
• Added a number of Custom Moves to fill in gaps where certain types + category combinations are vacant.

New Items & QOL

• Brand new Items have been added to Y Nouveau, expanding the capabilities for your Pokemon in battle, and for your ease of play.
• Battle Items from Gen 7+ make their appearance, as well as a large list of items that offer QoL:
• Mobile PC – Change Your Party!
• Candy Pouch – Boost to Level Cap!
• Ability Capsules & Patches, Nature Mints, and Bottle Caps
• And many more!

New Battle Mechanics

• The mechanics within Battles themselves have been shaken up!
• Stat Ranks scale differently
• Weathers have been buffed and nerfed
• New Terrains have been introduced!

Economy Management

• Each Trainer has a dedicated amount of money they give you upon defeat.
• Some sell-only items can be found, either as part of routes or as rewards after defeating Optional Trainers.
• Most battle items are now single purchase.
• Additional methods of earning money have been disabled.

AI

Switch

• The Slow & Dead clause now checks for Focus Band, Focus Sash, and Sturdy.
• The minimum required score for a benched Pokemon to be considered an optimal switch has been increased from 0 to 1.
• Multiple scores for the Switch AI have been updated, to prioritize survivability a bit more. The AI should switch out at a lower rate than before.
  • Bulky: +2 → +3
  • Strong Moves: +3 → +2
  • Faster: +2 → +3
  • Squishy: -2 → -3
  • MTS, Prevents Damage: +2 → +4
  • MTS, Gets Killed: Now checks the highest damage move against the benched Pokemon, instead of the active Pokemon.

Other

• Aquacorde Town is now an extra encounter location before Santalune Gym with its own encounter pool.
  • Invisible Grass is located in the northwest and northeast wings of the town, by the water’s edge.
  • Starter Pokemon have had their location renamed to clarify the difference.
  • The catch rate is guaranteed.

Bugfixes

AI

Battle

• AI will no longer spam Noble Roar or Venom Drench.
• AI will no longer use Normal-moves that have been type-changed via Galvanize, Aerilate, etc into Immunity abilities like Lightning Rod.
• Fixed a bug where the border for Semi-Lethal tier was rounding down, occasionally allowing moves just under 50% to be classified within it.

Switch

• Fixed several rounding errors, both in-game and in the calc.
• Fixed a bug causing a case where the Switch AI would stop after finding a move was Semi-Lethal, even if the Pokemon knew a Lethal move, decreasing it’s potential switch score.

Moves

• Refresh will now remove Fatigue.

Other

• Exiting and re-entering Shalour Gym will now properly raise the rails if you have defeated all 3 gym trainers.

Hardware

• Old 3DS’s should now be able to play the game without experiencing intermittent hardware crashes.
  • Pressing the Home button will still crash the game.
  • This does not fix the ORAS model limitation.
